Glass Toughening

Convex Glass uses two state-of-the-art heavy-duty glass toughening lines. One of them is suitable for working with bent glass.

The toughening process enhances functional properties of glass by increasing its durability in order to make glass more resistant to mechanical damage. If broken, toughened glass falls into safe tiny pieces. The toughening process consists in heating glass to approximately 700 degrees Celsius and then quickly cooling it with compressed air. The advantage of the process lies in the fact that it changes the internal structure of glass with no detriment to the appearance.
